Jessica is a thoughtful violinist and educator, always learning and thinking creatively to distill the information for each of her students. Her students thrive under her care, and she seeks to help them through processed based learning. Jessica is skilled in teaching the art of mastery through scaffolded instruction and revisiting learned skills in order to build on a strong foundation of technique and musicality.

One of the many things I love about Jessica’s teaching is that she takes special care to help with emotional coaching when challenges arise for each of her learners. Taking a student where they are at, validating their experience, and helping them transform their feelings into an action that helps them is one of Jessica’s gifts.

Jessica beautifully articulates, “My core values in studying and teaching music are consistency, gentle and steady progress, mastery of skill, welcoming challenges as an opportunity for growth and finding deep satisfaction and joy in the process. I seek to inspire independent learning and the joy of discovery, making room for students to blossom into their unique strengths and talents, as they experience new aspects of themselves through music.”

An incredibly innovative creation Jessica has developed is her Emotional Expression and Integration Class. She shares more about it here:

“As an opportunity for further personal development I offer my students an additional class on Emotional Expression and Integration. In this class we explore a particular emotion word through self-reflection, music and art. I help students understand how their emotions can shape their musical experience and interpretation. We then use their unique memories and reflections as a way to understand their emotions and how to safely express and use them for good in the world around them."

Jessica is currently teaching private lessons virtually and locally from her welcoming home in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. You can reach Jessica by email, jessica@jdueck.net.
